2007 Porsche 911 GT3 Clubsport
Seller's description
The Porsche 911 GT3 is a high performance version of the Porsche 911 sports car primarily intended for racing. The GT3 is named after the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) Group GT3 class it was designed to compete in.
A number of variations, designed for road and track duty, have been introduced since its launch in 1999 and the GT3 has had a successful racing career in the one-make national Porsche Carrera Cup series, and the international Porsche Supercup. It has won championship and endurance races, including the GT class of the American Le Mans Series seven times, first overall in the 24 Hours of Daytona, and first overall at the 24 Hours Nürburgring six times.
In February 2006, Porsche revealed the first generation 997 GT3, commonly now known as the 997.1 GT3 or Gen 1.
In addition to a new 415 hp 3.6 litre flat-six engine, the vehicle featured “zero lift” aerodynamics, meaning the car creates only aerodynamic downforce and no grip-diminishing “lift” upwards and away from the road surface.
The vehicle made use of a modified, track oriented version of Porsche’s active PASM suspension making it the first of Porsche’s GT3 versions to feature an electronically adjustable suspension system.

EXTERIOR
The original owner certainly specified a special car here – one of the very few Clubsports destined for the Paint to Sample (PTS) scheme and the only car in B45 Estoril Blue. The colour perfectly suits this road going race car, and after 2 days of detailing it positively shines; dead straight down both flanks and oozing with character and colour. Factory applied paint protection has ensured the rear arches remain in excellent condition, whilst the bumper and bonnet display minimal marks with only a handful of isolated chips to report commensurate with age and mileage.
As a perfect blend of svelte styling and racecar aero the 997 variant retains a classic bottle shape that achieves instant modern classic status.
INTERIOR
The interior of this Clubsport is extremely focused yet can handle both track and road driving alike. Slip into the nomex bucket seats which provide ultimate support and all controls come naturally to hand, with beautiful alcantara adorned to all contact areas – wheel, gearknob and handbrake. The view out over the front of the blue bonnet is matched with a jigsaw of black roll cage visible in the rear view mirror – a real Cup car environment! Red belts and Harnesses provide an attractive colour combination alongside the red brake calipers.
Kick plates remain free from scuffs or marks and the interior remains in excellent condition.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The 3.6l flat six is in perfect mechanical order having been well serviced throughout its life with the main agent, whilst the latest report indicates ZERO ignitions in ANY rev range parameter.
The clutch was replaced this year whilst the RMS was also changed as a precautionary measure.
The last service with the OPC was carried out some 300 miles ago and as such the car is on the button and ready to go.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The lightweight alloys offset the bodywork beautifully with the Basalt black centres and crested badges. The unmarked wheels are complimented by new N0 Michelin Cup 2′s to front with matching rears displaying good even tread depth.
Red calipers show minimal wear whilst pads front and rear have been recently replaced. Brake fluid was also changed at the last service in October of last year with Porsche Mid Sussex.
