1978 Porsche 911 Turbo

Seller's description

In October 1974 Porsche launched the 911 Turbo at the Paris Motor Show as its top-of-the-line 911 model, clearly defined by superior equipment, appearance and performance. There was no doubt that the engineers and designers at Porsche had achieved their goal by presenting a completely new breed of 911. The 930 Turbo featured enormously wide tyres and widened arches, a striking rear spoiler and a body devoid of chrome plating. Fitted with the already well-proven six-cylinder engine of the 911, combined with an exhaust turbocharger which provided such an exceptionally high power output of now 260 bhp, nobody thought there would be demand for even higher performance. But as demand increased for this premium 911, Porsche unleashed a series of engineering studies to develop and release an even more potent car, the Turbo 3.3. The first of the 300hp 3.3 litre “Super Turbos’ began rolling out of Zuffenhausen in late 1977.
Chassis # 930 870 0673
A stunningly presented Turbo 3.3 Coupe which was delivered new to Germany in June 1978 and finished in rare Olive Green with Cork leather interior and Olive Tartan seat inserts, built to the lightest and most desirable German specification of single wing mirror, no A/C and no sunroof.
Delivered new to a Mr Heinrich Janbeu of Rheurdt in North West Germany. The second owner, a Dr Paulusma, acquired the car in 1994 and subsequently moved to Holland. Following just one further change in Dutch ownership, in 2016 it was acquired by its fourth registered owner and registered in the UK.
This truly immaculate and finely detailed example has been regularly serviced from new by approved Porsche garages as evidenced in the original, stamped, service booklet, but also benefits from an complete exterior repaint for show puposes, whilst still retaining its lovely original, factory paint finish to both the engine bay under bonnet areas.
The interior is also preserved in highly original condition with un-damaged trim and upholstery, complete with original tool kit, jack, spare tyre, air pump and gloves, etc.
The accompanying Porsche Certificate of Authenticity confirms that the car retains its original matching-numbers engine and gearbox which, too, are beautifully restored and detailed, all accompanied by an extensive history file, detailing the ownership, maintenance and restoration of what must be said is one of the very finest early 930 Turbo 3.3 Coupes we have seen.
