2014 Jaguar XKR-S GT

Seller's description

MODEL HISTORY

The success of the XKR-S resulted in the development of an even more focused and dynamic version, the XKR-S GT.
The car is a limited (30 units in United States and Canada, 10 in UK) version of the XKR-S coupe (world-wide production was 45 units) with six-speed transmission, active electronic differential, bespoke aerodynamic components and suspension developments to increase downforce and optimise high-speed cornering ability (a wider front track, increased camber, revised bushings, a new steering system and faster steering ratio, height-adjustable and bespoke adaptive dampers with twin spring system and increased rates of 68% at the front and 25% at the rear), carbon ceramic brake system (398mm and 380mm front/rear discs, 6/4-piston front/rear monoblock calipers)
The vehicle was unveiled in 2013 Jaguar at the New York International Auto Show, followed by 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Models to UK customers were delivered from October 2013.

EQUIPMENT

Carbon Ceramic brake system, Half roll cage, Active Exhaust, Active Electronic differential, Heated Performance bucket seats, Satellite Navigation, XKR-S bodykit w/carbon fibre splitter / dive planes / arch spats, rear wing, rear diffuser, Forged Alloy wheels, Bowers & Wilkins premium sound system, DAB radio, Bluetooth, Heated Steering wheel, Bi Function HID Xenons, Cruise control, Tracker, Trickle charger.

EXTERIOR

The Ultimate black bodywork is a shade that properly befits the character of this Track special – it is also unique; the only vehicle produced by Jaguar’s Engineered To Order division with this colour combination. To be expected, the metallic content shimmers beautifully under both studio and natural light – a real feast for the eyes alongside the significant aerodynamic addenda.
Over 45kgs of weight is trimmed with the exclusive use of carbon fibre to splitter and front valance arrangement, dive planes, extended wheel arch spats, rear diffuser and huge rear wing contributing to maximum downforce figures of 145kg’s.

INTERIOR

Carbon bucket seats, Sabelt Harnesses and a fixed Roll cage meet the track inspired expectations immediately. The contour of the cabin is beautifully outlined by a special order red stitch throughout; door cards, dash and gearbox tunnel are all distinctly defined. The R-S GT embossed seats remain in showroom condition, with yet more stitching following the clean and unbroken silhouette. Alcantara inserts offer vast levels of grip, whilst the wheel is also treated to the soft touch material – the defacto feel for circuit inspired specials.
A host of mod cons adorn the cabin – Nav, DAB & Bluetooth all present to ensure modern day connectivity with the superb Bowers and Wilkins sound system also retained.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION

The ‘charged V8 has seen several evolutions over it’s long and successful XK career – reaching a nadir with this 550hp monster. Significant bonnet louvres aid engine cooling and reduce under bonnet pressure whilst the car grumbles with meaning at idle and low revs; full of intention as an active exhaust unleashes an incredible wall of sound past 3,000 rpm.
Eibach have been called upon to create a bespoke suspension setup – race derived, height adjustable and retuned adaptive dampers with twin springs provide an almost 70% stiffer front end with little to no compromise on ride quality.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES

New, wider 20 inch Forged alloys are shod with Pirelli Corsa – 255/35 front and a huge 305/30 rear offer both a pliant ride and significant grip thanks to an Active differential and steering rack from the F Type. Monster 400mm Carbon Ceramic discs, a first for Jaguar, are gripped by 6 piston Monoblock pistons to front with 4 pot to rear.
Another key innovation of Electronic ‘pre-fill’ pressurises the braking system prior to application for maximum performance.
