2007 Aston Martin Vanquish S
Seller's Description
An immaculate Vanquish S in Ghillies Green with Obsidian and Parliament Green Hide, just 8,000 miles from new and a full Aston Martin history.
Aston Martin unveiled the Ian Callum designed ‘Project Vantage’ at the North American International Auto Show, Detroit, in 1998. Such was the interest in the car that Aston Martin decided to put it into production as the V12 ‘Vanquish’. Introduced at the 2001 Geneva Motor Show, with only minor changes to Callum’s original design it had a 5.9 litre V12 engine developing 450hp and was revolutionary in its aluminium and carbon composite structure, drive by wire throttle and electro hydraulic manual transmission. It appeared in the 2002 Bond movie ‘Die Another Day’ and was named in the top three best film cars ever, alongside the ‘Italian Job’ minis and the DB5 from ‘Goldfinger’!
The Vanquish was produced up to 2004 and only 1400 cars were made before the announcement of the Vanquish ‘S’ at the Paris Auto Show that year. The new car had an increase in power to 520hp, up rated steering, suspension and brakes, new wheels, a front splitter and rear spoiler incorporated in the boot lid. The Vanquish S was built until 2007 when the production facility at Newport Pagnell was shut down and only 1086 examples were made.
This car was one of the very last Vanquish S produced and was sold new in August 2007 by our very own Alan Baker to a habitual Aston Martin client, a Mr Amersi from London. The car remained in his ownership for less than two years and having covered only 2,000 miles it returned to Alan at our sister company ‘Aston Sales Kensington’ (ASK) to be sold to its second titled owner from Gloucestershire in January 2010. An old friend of Victor Gauntlett, this gentleman had a varied collection of exotic Astons and enjoyed the ‘oil painting’ aspect of car ownership, a notion borne out by the total of just 52 miles he covered in the car before part exchanging it with ASK for a new model. The Vanquish was acquired by the current owner, an Aston Martin collector, at 3,800 miles from D J Smail Ltd.
This Vanquish S, one of the very last hand built cars to be made in Newport Pagnell, is in superb condition having covered a total of just 8,800 miles from new and comes with a fully documented Aston Martin service history. It has been fanatically maintained and sports no fewer than nine service stamps! Coils and plugs were recently replaced.
