2009 Ferrari F430 Scuderia
Seller's description
MODEL HISTORY
The Pininfarina-designed Ferrari F430 was unveiled at the 2004 Paris Motor Show, and its external appearance was quite different from its predecessor, the 360 – in particular, its more aerodynamic shape was honed to generate air flows to increase downforce and improve cooling. The Enzo Ferrari was the inspiration for much of the rear styling, while the large air intakes in the nose were reminiscent of the 156 F1 that Phil Hill drove to the 1961 World Championship title.
The F430 was powered by a completely new 4.3 litre V8 engine. Other new features on the car included an innovative computer-controlled electronic differential (or ‘E-Diff’), designed to make the most of the engine’s torque to optimise traction, and a steering wheel-mounted control knob (known as a ‘manettino’), directly controlling the vehicle dynamics.
The Michael Schumacher-tested 430 Scuderia (‘stable’ in Italian) was launched in 2007, and served as a successor to the Challenge Stradale. Exuding uncompromising sportiness, external modifications included larger front vents with wide-meshed metallic grilles, as well as lower-profiled bumpers and chin spoiler to enhance the car’s front-end downforce.
As well as being 100 kg lighter than the standard F430, it had increased power, while superb quick-response braking was guaranteed by callipers and carbon-ceramic discs. The manettino became a ‘racing’ manettino, with slightly altered settings allowing the traction control to be deactivated to allow wheelspin, while the stability control remained engaged.
Its semi-automatic transmission featured improved ‘Superfast’ software (known as ‘Superfast2’), allowing the gears to be disengaged and engaged at the same time as the clutch was opened and closed – the result was that the Scuderia benefitted from a reduced gear-change time of as low as 60 milliseconds.

EXTERIOR

Grey is also used to give character to the front bridge, headlight units and wheel trims, with the overall effect a smart and well contrasting exterior colour theme.
Many of the car’s parts are made from carbon fibre to reduce weight, including the doors and wing mirrors. The unique rear bumper houses the high exhaust pipes, modelled on the version used in the Ferrari Challenge races with the successful F430 Challenge race car.
INTERIOR
The simple but sophisticated interior is also in superb condition, featuring liberal use of weight-saving Alcantara technical cloth on the carbon fibre dashboard. Interior door panels are also of carbon fibre, as are the racing seats, designed for extra support in extreme driving condition.
Anti-slip aluminium foot wells include leather lined sill covers. The steering wheel, with leather lower section, features the engine start button as well as the ‘Racing manettino’ control, offering greater opportunities for electronic control parameter settings. The generous spec of this Scuderia continues with a Factory Radio and Nav installation, factory roll cage and the extended leather interior.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The F430 Scuderia’s 4.3 litre V8 engine emits a highly distinctive sound which can be heard clearly inside the car with the engine intake manifold, separators and air filter boxes all made from weight-saving carbon fibre.
Transmission is the astonishingly fast F1-style ‘Superfast2’ system, controlled by paddles on either side of the steering column; a recent clutch wear test read at only 7% worn. The car has been serviced solely by the Ferrari main dealer with a recent major service at 4,477 miles, on the 11th of November 2016 at H.R. Owen London.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The unmarked anthracite 19-inch alloy wheels are wrapped in a set of P-Zero Rosso tyres better suited to the road than the Corsa track variant. The type of road tyres an indicator along with its immaculate condition and brake wear readings (22% worn) as to the cars designated use throughout its life on the road rather than track.
The braking system itself has larger carbon-ceramic discs specifically designed to reflect the car’s increased performance compared to the standard F430, and a brake pedal feel optimised for all driving conditions.
HISTORY FILE
This left hand drive Scuderia was first registered in Japan on 11th of May 2009 and has only ever been serviced by the Ferrari main agents.
