2004 Porsche 911 GT3 RS

Seller's description

The reference ''RS'' will quicken the pulse of Porsche connoisseurs. Models such as the legendary Carrera RS 2.7 of 1972 and the 1991 Type 964 911 RS were also sports cars that stood out on account of their extreme degree of manoeuvrability and handling. That tradition is continued with the 993 RS and then the 996 GT3 RS. In common with its predecessors, it provides a homologation model for use in a range of racing series.
Although the horsepower remained the same 375 bhp as per the GT3 model, the GT3 RS's performance increase was highly distinguishable. This owed thanks to the wider wheels and tyres combined with a revised suspension system, as well as a stringent diet that Porsche subject the RS too. Weight was extracted from a reduction in sound deadening, air conditioning, a composite bonnet, rear seats, and a Perspex rear window instead of glass. To increase rear downforce and maximise the use of the wider rear wheels, the fixed rear wing grew to race car proportions.
The combination of these improvements allowed the GT3 RS to accelerate from 0 – 60 in a staggering 4.2 seconds with an ultimate top speed of 190 mph. Each example was supplied with a full factory roll cage (front section removable) and finished in white with red or light blue livery with colour matched wheels, as to pay homage to the 2.7 RS.
This superb 996 GT3 RS was delivered to its first private owner in June 2004. Presented in the superb combination of Carrera White with Red RS Livery, it was equipped with the following options from new; Headlamp washers, Multi CD Changer, Antenna-less radio, Ceramic brakes, Auto climate control, Litronic (xenon) headlamps and a Becker CD Radio. During a long term single ownership period, the car benefitted from a most complete and comprehensive service history, supported by the original service book and schedule supplied.
In 2015 the car was purchased and subsequently imported into the United Kingdom at which time DK supplied the car to a good client so that it could join a collection of the finest RS Porsche's where it has remained until today. Presented with under 24,000 miles from new and in exceptional condition, reflecting the fastidious nature in which this car has been cared for from new, this superb GT3 RS comes accompanied by its original books, tools and full UK Registration. Located in our showrooms just outside London and available to view immediately.
