Seller's description

1960 Ferrari 250GT Pininfarina Coupe
After years of racing success, Enzo Ferrari sought to bring some financial stability to the automaker that bore his name. Enzo requested Pininfarina to design an elegant 250 GT Coupe to follow-up to the well-received 250 GT Boano and Ellena in the late 1950s.
With its 1958 debut in Milan, the 250 GT Pininfarina Coupe was a grand touring car with a style that would be identified as the image if Ferrari for some years.
Manufactured at Pininfarina’s Grugliasco plant they hand crafted a mere 353, only 3 more than the equally rare 250GT Lusso.
Seeking to promote the 250 GT Coupe as a tourer, Ferrari included luxurious leather trim, sound deadening, thick carpeting, cabriolet-with-hard-top profile.
Power was generated from the Colombo V-12, essentially, a detuned version of the race-winning V-12 Ferrari put in competition cars, with 240BHP sent to the rear wheels. It was among the fastest GT cars of its era, with 0-62 mph in less than seven seconds and top speed of 141mph.
Italian delivered in March 1960, this Series II example was one of the last to have been built. The car traveled to California in 1974 and remained there until now, forming part of a private collection for the last 36 years. Now under our ownership as the 5th recorded keeper the car is fully repatriated back into Europe and is available for sale in London.
Desirable Series II model with outside plug and disc brakes.
Documented Ferrari history report, with service bills dating back to 1980s
The paint work is very presentable and retains its original Grigio Conchiglia paintwork on the dashboard. The interior is completely original, with both the seats and carpets in good order and all dash switches and fixings present.
It is a numbers matching vehicle complete with all correct body number stampings and a very original and solid undercarriage with the original under coat still present. This is an unrestored and exceptionally original car, free of rust, modification or damage.
The vehicle is currently with our specialist having a full top end rebuild, carburettor and braking system overhaul, full tune and inspection.
We believe that the 250GT offers a collector significant exclusivity whilst maintaining a degree of subtlety and sophistication. The 250 PF Cabriolet command price tags far into the millions and compared to almost any other 250 Ferrari, the GT PF represents significant value.
