2006 Ford GT Heritage Edition
Seller's description
The Ford GT was conceived and built as a road-going interpretation of the historic Ford GT40 race cars that proved Ford could triumph over its international competitors. The Heritage Edition-series Ford GTs were hand-built to commemorate the winning Gulf Oil-liveried Ford Mk1 GT40, chassis No. 1075, that took consecutive wins at LeMans. This one-owner 2006 Ford GT Heritage Edition from the Colts Neck Collection shows 1,828 miles on the odometer and is one of just 343 cars built with the signature stripes and roundels that set it apart from the standard-production run. Powering this modern tribute to Ford racing history is a supercharged 5.4L dual-overhead camshaft V-8. Capable of a 0-60 MPH blast in just 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 205 MPH, the Ford GT has the performance to back up its Heritage Blue and Orange color scheme that stands as one of the most iconic liveries in motorsports. With four camshafts and four valves per cylinder, the aluminum block-and-head modular engine is factory rated for 550 HP at 6,500 RPM and 500 lb-ft of torque at 3,750 RPM, a considerable increase in power over the approximately 425 HP engine powering the two-time winning GT40. The mid-mounted engine is backed up by a Ricardo 6-speed manual transmission purpose-engineered for the Ford GT program. The sport-oriented interior is centered by a pair of ventilated bucket seats for maximum control and comfort. The Ford GT commands the road on a set of factory-issue, BBS one-piece aluminum-alloy wheels with Ford GT logo knockoff-style center caps equipped with Goodyear Eagle F1 ultra-high-performance compound tires. Brembo 4-wheel ventilated disc brakes with black-painted 4-piston calipers and ABS work to scrub off velocity. One of 20 Heritage Editions to leave the factory equipped with BBS cast wheels, the original window sticker, temporary tag, copy of the MSO, bill of sale, transport stickers and tags, shipping invoice, odometer statement and title application are included.
