2015 Porsche Cayman GT4
Seller's description
MODEL HISTORY
The Cayman GT4 was introduced in 2015, based on the current Cayman (981C), using a revised and slightly de-tuned version of the 3.8-liter flat-six engine from the 991 Carrera S.
The GT4 is available only with a 6 speed manual transmission and weighs 1340 kg. It has a vented front bumper to improve cooling for the additional radiator, with a lower lip as well as a fixed rear wing for providing downforce. Compared to the standard Cayman, it features a 30mm lower ride height, upgraded brakes from the 991 GT3, a limited slip differential combined with Porsche Torque Vectoring, and Porsche Active Suspension Management with dampers derived from the 991 GT3.
A number of reinforcements were also made throughout the chassis. A Club Sport Package is also available, featuring a rear half rollcage, preparation for a battery cut off switch, a fire extinguisher and a six-point racing harness for the driver, compatible with a neck saving HANS device. Sport Chrono Package with unique Track Precision app is also available specifically for GT4, adding an additional ECU to the car to deliver telemetry data to the driver’s smartphone.
The GT4 also represents the last street legal track car with a naturally aspirated Flat 6 engine coupled to a 6-speed manual, a combination that would disappear after the introduction of the turbocharged Flat 4 in 718 Cayman.

EXTERIOR
This GT4 is finished in Carrara white metallic paint which remains totally original from factory and free from stone chips. The GT inspired body sports aggressive lines taken from its GT3 sibling with the front valance featuring large intakes for optimised cooling with further side intakes for engine air flow.
Black headlight and fog lights work alongside the front black spoiler and a deep rear diffuser creating a srtong colour contrast against the white body topped by the centre exit titanium black exhaust.
INTERIOR
The GT race car theme continues inside with big carbon backed 918 bucket seats to secure both driver and passenger in-place. Optionally spec’d Guards red stitched alcantara covers the interior from the headlining, A pillars, lower dash, door cards, seat inserts, steering wheel and gear surround, whilst Porsche’s finest black leather is stitched to the top of the dashboard.
Both road and race seat belts finished in red further offset the interior colour coding along with door pulls and ‘GT4′ stitched to the head rests again in Guards red. The roll cage in the rear as part of the Clubsport package is finished in a subtle shade of black.
With the presence of mod-cons (many of which optional extras), such as Sat Nav, AC, DAB radio and phone connectivity along with switchable exhaust the car can be used day to day, long distance or comfortably to and from track.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
While the visual effects of the engine are minimal and hidden behind plastic covers, the audible effects along with it’s power are ferocious. With a sharp bark at start-up and a flat-six howl under-load, there’s no doubt this is one of Stuttgart’s finest.
Only built with a manual transmission, the GT4 is strictly for the purist of drivers. With heavy use of the PDK transmission in Porsche’s other track based weapons, the GT4 will go down in the history books as one of the last with the extra pedal.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The unmarked lightweight 20-inch anthracite GT3 inspired wheels are complimented by Michelin’s Pilot Sport Cup 2′s that show plenty of tread having only covered scarce mileage.
Large 6-pot red calipers with 4-Pot on the rear clamp to huge drilled discs providing plenty of stopping force of road or track.
HISTORY FILE
Supplied new to Porsche centre Reading in November last year, this GT4 has covered it’s extremely low mileage with only one custodian.
As a nearly new example it still benefits from it’s Manufacturer backed warranty ending in 2018. It’s first service not due for another 12k miles or 2 years.
Both keys, leather book pack and original bill of sale are all present.
