Additional Information & Condition
The Alfa Romeo Montreal is a 2+2 coupé sports car, which was produced by the Italian manufacturer Alfa Romeo from autumn 1970 to spring 1977. The Alfa Montreal was Italy's design contribution to the Expo in Canada in 1967, made by Marcello Gandini, designer of the Lamborghini Miura – the similarity is obvious. Instead of the prototype's 4-cylinder midship engine, the serial model featured the V8 racing engine from the Tipo 33.
The car was first delivered in Austria and has been in family possession since 20 June 1972. As the new car was damaged during shipping, the father of the current owner bought the Alfa Romeo Montreal from the Austrian importer. He then had it repaired and gave it to his wife, who used it for private purposes. It was first registered on 22 September 1972. It was used as a daily driver until 1981, after that point it was only used occasionally. From 1981 to 1998 the car was not registered and was only used with test drive plates to make sure it was still in order. In 1998 the car was registered and used again. In 2002 it fell victim to a flood, however, it was dried up and brought back to running condition. Over the following ten years it was only used very few times. The current owner has been the rightful owner since 2012.
