1971 Lamborghini Espada 400 GTE

Seller's description

Meet one of the rarest Lamborghinis ever: the Espada! In 1200 of these Grand Touring Coupe's were made. And "Grand", it is! The Espada was built during a production period from '68 to '78 in a total of 3 different series. This copy is a very rare series two of which only 575 cars were made, and even less (+/- 150 cars) were delivered with "Knock Off" Miura wheels and series 1 rear lights! Classic Lamborghinis have increased excessively in value and a unique piece as this Espada can certainly be considered as a good investment.
History chassis 8053:
This Espada, chassis 8053, was produced in 1970 and is a European version. The car was delivered in Rome, and then immediately shipped to California and registered in 1971. In 1990, the Espada came to the Netherlands where the car ended up in the private collection of former Lamborghini dealership van Vliet. In this collection the car has spent years under a dust cover without being registered.
In 1993 the current owner took the dustcover from the Espada and was fascinated by the imposing and majestic appearance. After several attempts to buy the car, the Espada moved to the German Lamborghini dealer Walter Wolff in Dusseldorf in 1995. In October of that year, the current owner finally bought the Espada. As both van Vliet and Wolff never registered the car, the current owner is registered as 2nd owner.
Maintenance history:
We rarely saw a car whose history is as documented as this Espada. The current owner has all the activities from 1996 to 2015 listed in detail.
