1995 Venturi 400 GT
Seller's description
Last French attempt at creating high-level cars, the brand Venturi was first called MVS when GĂ©rard Godfroy and Claude Poiraud founded it. The name Venturi appeared in 1992 and came with new ambitions, such as investing in Formula 1 and creating a new competition: the Gentlemen Drivers Trophy. Henri Pescarolo introduced the Venturi 400 GT in 1994, it was a road version of the Venturi 400 Trophy. Its look was very close from the racecar, but the interior was refined, with wooden or carbon inserts and Recaro bucket seats all covered in leather. Its V6 PRV engine was enlarged up to 3 liters, and was fed by two Garett turbochargers raising the power up to 408 bhp. Available with 5 speed manual gearbox or a track-ready dog clutch gearbox the car could reach 300 km/h. In order to slow it down, the Venturi 400 GT was the first car sold with four carbon disc brakes as standard equipment. Only 15 cars were built, it is a very rare vehicle and an incredible testimony of French automobile history. Our Venturi 400 GT is one of 7 sold in 1995, and the twelfth built. It has an extremely low mileage with 8 500 original kilometers on the odometer. The history of the car is well known. Its first owner was British; he kept it until May 2004. Gildo Pallanca Pastor, CEO of Venturi Automobiles S.A.M., then purchased it and the car was put on display at the company’s headquarters in Monaco. Its current owner bought this Venturi in 2014 after the car was serviced. It has white OZ wheels and is fitted with air conditioning. Its condition is outstanding, the blue body is spotless and its black interior looks like new. As a very limited production car, with a prestigious history and a very low mileage, you may not be able to have such an opportunity ever again. The Venturi 400 GT remains one of the most efficient French production cars ever, but is still affordable compared to other supercars from the 1990’s.
