1982 Aston Martin Lagonda Tickford

1982 Aston Martin Lagonda Tickford

A testament to the time, the Aston Martin Lagonda when first shown to the public in 1976, was front page news in our national daily papers and announced the return of the Lagonda brand to the luxury 4 door sector, dominated by R-R and Bentley since the 1950’s. Fitted with ground breaking electronics and radical styling, the Lagonda entered production in 1979, ceasing in 1989 after less than 650 examples had been built. In 1983, Tickford, a subsidiary of Aston Martin, showed at the British Motor Show a unique body and interior package on the Lagonda, adding substantial body changes and luxury to the original William Towns design, as well as substantial cost to the car.
The Left Hand Drive and low mileage example we are delighted to be offering, is 1 of only 6 Tickford examples built on the standard Lagonda wheelbase. Kept within a substantial car collection in climate controlled circumstances by its first overseas royal owner this rare example has covered just 15,000 Kilometres from new. Finished in the original Kent Green with Magnolia Hides piped green, the car is now UK registered and Euro taxes paid. Serviced and fully prepared prior to sale, this substantial testament to a bygone era of automotive styling, innovation and ground breaking use of electronics, is sure to continue to be appreciated.
