1973 Porsche 911 E 2.4l
Seller's description
Upon the introduction of the so-called B-series in the model year 1969, Porsche enlarged the vehicles' wheelbase (LWB), in order to improve the handling performance, and increased the product range. In this context the 911 E (fuel injection) was introduced to fill the gap between the 911 T (Touring) and the 911 S (Sport). The 911 E had the same features as the 911 S and also had, just like the 911 S, a mechanic fuel injection by Bosch (MFI), however, for the sake of a better elasticity, it had a smaller engine than the 911 S. Porsche was so successful with the adjustment of the E engines that many Porsche fans preferred the 911 E-models to the S-models, for their better suitability for daily use, especially in the lower speed range. Production of the E-models began in 1969, initially with the older 2.0 liter engines and 140 hp. As of the model year 1970 the cubic capacity was increased to 2.2 liters/ 155 hp and as of 1972 to 2.4 liters/ 165 hp. With the introduction of the G-model series in 1974, the production of the E-models was stopped.
This coupe offered here comes from the last year of production of the E-model series. This 911 E was first delivered to Switzerland in the rare color signal yellow with black sports seats, sliding roof and anti-roll bars in front and rear. Accordingly, it featured the F-model's most popular extras. The car was originally ordered with a Sportomatic gearbox, however, the tried and tested 915 5-gear transmission was soon built in. The Porsche had two owners in Switzerland and was sold to Germany in 2003. The coupe is in a very good original and unrestored condition. Welding jobs can not be detected, the underbody is still sealed with the original coating. The interior is in a good and untouched condition. The dash panel has just a few discernible splits. Carpets, interior rooftop and steering wheel are still original. The same is true for the seats, only the side protection of the driver's seat was worked over. The Porsche has a good documentation, the Swiss registration certificate from 1980 is at hand, as well as an exhaust service document beginning in 1986. The original handbook with service book, manual and service index is also included. A copy of the Porsche birth certificate specifying the extra features and the matching number engine is also comprised. The documents make the low mileage plausible. The original tool bag, the jack as well as the original spare tire are also included.
