2011 Porsche 911 GT2 RS

Seller's description

The Porsche 911 GT2 was a high performance sports car built by the German manufacturer Porsche from 1993 to 2012. It was based on the 911 Turbo, and uses a similar twin-turbocharged engine, but features numerous upgrades, including engine upgrades, larger brakes, and stiffer suspension calibration. The GT2 is significantly lighter than the Turbo due to its use of rear-wheel drive instead of all-wheel drive, and the lightening or removal of interior components. As a result, the GT2 was the most expensive and the highest trim level within the 911 lineup.
On May 4, 2010, an RS variant was announced to German dealers in Leipzig. The GT2 RS develops 620 PS and 516 lb·ft of torque and weighs 70kg less than the standard GT2, allowing for a top speed of 215 mph and 0-62 mph acceleration of 2.8 seconds.
According to Porsche Motorsports manager Andreas Preuninger, the RS was conceived around 2007 as a skunk-works effort. The 727 code number selected for the project corresponds to one of the Nissan GT-R’s lap times around the Nurburgring’s Nordschleife. When the dust settled, Porsche claimed that test driver Timo Kluck had supposedly eclipsed that target by an impressive nine seconds. The GT2 RS had lapped the Nurburgring in just 7:18 seconds.

EQUIPMENT

LHD, Sports Chrono Package Plus, PCM 3 Navigation Module, PCM 3 Telephone module, Cruise control,  Leather seats with Alcantara inserts, Schroth Racing harnesses, Cage in Black, HomeLink.

EXTERIOR

The purposeful shape of this incredible RS is covered in a pristine coat of Carrara white paintwork that accentuates its deep air intakes and carbon panels. The carbon bonnet is hard to avoid and the car proudly displays this and its wide aggressive stance leaving no doubt that this is the fastest 911 ever produced.
The paint work presents beautifully and remains in its factory coat largely free of stone chips helped by the protective film fitted to the front end.

INTERIOR

The immaculate cockpit has been well specified from new, the Clubsport package includes the lightweight carbon backed seats in this case trimmed in soft black leather with grey alcantara inserts which neatly tie in with the exterior touches of colour. The black roll cage is also fitted as part of the package and secures red Schroth Racing Harnesses, an option for the driver to choose between these and the standard red road seat belts depending on the intended usage.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION

With another 90hp over the standard GT2 the RS now shatters the 3 second barrier to 60mph.. and to think the car is rear wheel drive! A turbo whisper is the only warning before welling up with a fearsome storm of torque that pins you back in the seat; this Porsche is astonishingly quick. There is a very real sense of traditional turbo traction and feel however considering the car has over 500lb/ft of torque the tractability is there and trips around town are surprisingly easy and user friendly off-boost.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES

The Weiss gold centre lock lightweight alloy wheels present perfectly with no curb marks or scuffs. These are wrapped in nearly new Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tyres all round. Brakes are in excellent condition with the revered PCCB with all four corners maintaining plenty of pad material and showing good disc life.
