2009 Porsche 911 GT3 Clubsport

Seller's description

The Porsche 911 GT3 is a high performance version of the Porsche 911 sports car primarily intended for racing. The GT3 is named after the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) Group GT3 class it was designed to compete in.
A number of variations, designed for road and track duty, have been introduced since its launch in 1999 and the GT3 has had a successful racing career in the one-make national Porsche Carrera Cup series, and the international Porsche Supercup. It has won championship and endurance races, including the GT class of the American Le Mans Series seven times, first overall in the 24 Hours of Daytona, and first overall at the 24 Hours Nürburgring six times. In February 2006, Porsche revealed the first generation 997 GT3, commonly now known as the 997.1 GT3 or Gen 1.
The 2010 Porsche 911 GT3 was unveiled at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show, available in Europe from May, in the US from October. To make the GT3 safe for less experienced drivers, the stability control system was made available on the 2010 model year GT3 for the first time. Changes to the exterior are only subtle still recognizable bringing about aerodynamic improvements. Total Downforce was doubled and Power output rose from 410 to 430hp with the new 3.8L engine.
The 2nd Gen cars brought about a line of accessories for the GT3 and GT3 RS developed by Porsche’s Motorsport Division in Weissach. Options included Titanium double tailpipe, carbon rear spoiler lip (Gurney flap) and rear lid ram air scoop, carbon front above bumper air outlet and rear-view mirrors and forged aluminium 19-inch centre lock (480 mm) GT3 wheels.

EQUIPMENT

Nomex bucket seats with Harnesses, Rollcage in body colour, RS decals in White Gold, RS front arch extensions, Centre lock wheels in White Gold, Alcantara wheel & Handbrake, Carbon gearknob and tunnel trim, Double Red stitching to leather top dash, dash centre and door cards, Porsche Communication Management (PCM) with extended navigation module and touch screen. Telephone Bluetooth module, Sport Chrono, Cruise control, Universal audio interface, PSM, Tyre monitor, Centre lock wheels, Extended Alcantara interior excluding seat covers, Door mirrors / Bumper insert / Wing supports and End plates in White Gold.

EXTERIOR

Presented in classic Guards Red this GT3 looks every part the motorsport special with a host of RS accents to compliment the Clubsport designation. The Guards Red / White Gold colourway works brilliantly and presents as if a factory option from new – infact all of the upgrades were supplied and installed by Porsche themselves. The paint work remains all original, retaining its factory coat from new.
The car has avoided any excessive stone chips to the front or scratches and scuffs around the body.

INTERIOR

The immaculate cockpit has been well specified from new, with the Clubsport package including the lightweight bucket seats in this case trimmed in soft Nomex fabric. The interior also features a luxurious red stitching throughout and offers warmth and definition to the dash top and centre, as well as bringing the leather / alcantara together on the door cards. Touch screen PCM / Bluetooth offer day-to-day considerations.
The red roll cage is also fitted as part of the package and secures red Schroth Racing Harnesses, an option for the driver to choose between these and the standard red road seat belts depending on the intended usage.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION

The Gen II 3.8l flat six is in perfect mechanical order having been well serviced throughout its life with the main agent on 7 occasions. The last, a major service, was carried out in January of 2016 some 750 miles ago.
The manual box is satisfyingly tight and precise as you work your way through the gears.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES

The White Gold theme extends to the purposeful centre lock wheel set – all unmarked wrapped in matching premium rubber with plenty of tread remaining.
The brakes remain in good condition with minimal wear and plenty of pad material remaining.
