Seller's description

The RUF CTR II represented a modern successor of the legendary CTR I « Yellow Bird ». This was quite a hard task actually, the CTR I being still then a reference in terms of performance. Launched in 1996 and built on the 993 basis, RUF created what is certainly one their very best cars. The CTR II was a much different car than the 993 Turbo, it was indeed totally revised with to name a a few : a totally revised aero for more stability at high speed, giant 360mm discs on bells with in house calipers, 60% locking rear differential, stiffer suspension, reinforced gearbox with longer ratios, 520 HP engine, gutters removal, the complete reshape of the rear bodywork with engine lid which now widely opens like a 959, fully integrated roll cage, and many more. All the cars were built to customers’ special request with numerous options and specifications available. The CTR II was probably the best driving supercar of its time and also from the fastest if not the fastest. It was tested at 347 km/h, reached 100km/h in 3,6 sec and only required 20sec for the standing km. Like all the RUF cars, the CTR IIs are remarkable for their quality of building and their homogeneity. At low or high speeds the car is very easy to drive and predictable. Only 29 examples are reputed to have been built including a few « wide body version ». The terrific CTR II is the very last aircooled high performance 911 built and surely one of the best 911 of all times.
This perfect example only ran 49 000km from new, it is a 3 owners car from new and benefitted from a complete service at RUF 1000km ago. It is a real joy to drive giving a lot of sensations. Fitted with the 18 inches monobloc forged wheels, silver body and green interior, it was ordered tastefully with a wonderful combination which suits perfectly the CTR II. The overall condition is absolutely mint and this is a fantastic opportunity to acquire one of the most fantastic and rare 911 ever built.
