Rare “silver metallic” 1988 LOTUS EXCEL SE with beautiful black leather interior. Powered by the famous “912 Slant Four” all-aluminum Lotus 2.2 DOHC engine (as used in the Esprit S3). Attached to a 5 speed manual gearbox. This 16 valve engine is equipped with 2 twin choke Dellorto carburetors producing 183 bhp. Giving this Excel a top speed of 217 km/h and an acceleration from 0-100 km/h in 7 seconds.
The Excel is a front engined rear wheel drive car. During the production run Toyota was a major shareholder in Lotus. Part of the deal between Toyota and Lotus included the use of many Toyota mechanical components in Lotus cars. The Excel uses: a W58 manual transmission, driveshaft’s and rear differential. (all for the Toyota Supra cars). The Excel is known for its high cornering power and excellent handling, thanks to the 50/50 weight distribution.
The last owner bought this car in 2011 in Germany. With the car comes a file of invoices, the original books and workshop manual. The car had a full Belgian registration for daily use. Technical in a perfect condition. Recent full respray. Comes with technical control and carpass. Ready to register.
