EXTERIOR
The 356 is the car that started it all and the rear-engine fastback design is iconic in 911 heritage; Porsche has stayed true to its roots in all respects. Finished in vintage Signal red the paintwork is first class with chrome details offering a delicate and dedicated shine all around the car. Pleasingly the underside is as clean as the top, with a dry engine bay and a carefully cleaned and prepared chassis. The little details are everywhere, the punched-hole arrangement to the front bonnet latch is stunning; an excellent indication of commitment to weight saving for a mass produced car.

INTERIOR
The cabin has been treated to a full overhaul whilst in the US; with a period-sympathetic houndstooth cloth for the seats alongside new old stock door panels, arm rests and luggage boot straps. The upholstery is in fine order throughout with new old stock mats carefully installed and still showing their protective wrapping. The colour-matched dash with chrome accents adds a touch of class, finished by a soft and supple padded insert.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
After careful priming of the carbs the car starts right up whether the engine is hot or cold, consistently idles at 750 rpm and winds smoothly up to the red-line-and beyond with no flat spots or hesitation. Low-speed torque and with a top speed of over 100 mph the engine offers great elasticity. The engine has been treated to a rebuild in the States alongside a new balance pressure plate and flywheel arrangement that ensures an eagerness right through the rev range. Free of grime and with many new parts the engine bay is remarkably clean and tidy.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The chromed steel wheels shine up handsomely wrapped in period Yokohama rubber showing plenty of tread with a recent date stamp. The crested centre hubs complete a simple yet effective styling union of spectacular chrome accents all around the car.
The brakes work exactly as should, easy to modulate with all new for C model discs around.
