Seller's description

ALPENSCOOTER, lightweight off-road vehicle of the '70s, made by the Italian factory POZZA, from Recoaro Terme (Vicenza - Italy), which still exists but builds children's rides.
HISTORY
In 1975-76, the citizen of Milan, Mr. Renato Cepparo, realized an expedition to Antarctica with the idea to raise awareness of the Italian Government on the need, by Italy, to join the Antarctic Treaty, signed in Washington on Dec. 1, 1959.
The Alpenscooter was used to transport men and materials. The expedition leader Renato Cepparo to Pozza said: "Your snowmobile was really helpful in Antarctica. Its performance has been exceptional, and we were allowed to transport with rapidly. It is a truly perfect vehicle and was instrumental during our expedition".
The expedition was financed and organized by Mr. Cepparo order to bring Italy in the group of participating nations to the Antarctic Treaty. Thanks to this expedition, and after many petitions, March 18, 1981 Italy joined the Treaty.
In the eighties, the Alpenscooter was also in use of Italian Army, used by the Alpini, the oldest infantry corps of active mountain in the world.
In this video you can see a model of Alpenscooter same as ours, in action on snow.
