1978 Porsche 928

Seller's description

This is your chance to own "Kermit", a real piece of Porsche history.
At just 1792 miles from new, this 928 is a true time capsule. The car is known as the first series 928 with the lowest original mileage in the world.
The colour combination of lindgrün metallic over a spotless cork/pascha interior is absolutely striking.
The first series 928 is getting more and more thought after and is rarely found in unmolested condition. This 928 is clearly as good as it gets.
The car was first registered in june 1978 by Mr. Stanley Allison of Bedford/NH. He bought the 928 strictly as a long term investment. From the beginning, he stored it in dry condition, driving it just 1392 miles in the 25 years of his ownership. He decided to sell his collection including the 928 in 2003, due to health reasons.

In 2004 the car came into the hands of Mr. Chuck Zachman of Charlotte/NC, founder of the 928 registry. He put a lot of work into concours detailing the car and bringing it back to perfect running condition, after it had been unused for quite some time. He showed the car at several Porsche meetings and parades, creating great attention within the Porsche community. At that time, the 928 was also featured in the book „Porsche 928, 924, 944 and 968 – The Front-Engined Sports Cars“ by Marc Cranswick, displaying a mere 1430 miles.
In 2009 the car was sold to a classic car collector in Europe who drove it just 300 miles until today. He had the car serviced at Porsche and it is presented in absolutely flawless and perfectly running condition.
The car comes with:
- original window sticker and supplement,
- original title, books and tools
- 9 binders of workshop manual
- plenty of invoices
- additional set of wheels with the first tires
- 3 keys
- certificate of authenticity
- first registration document
- original press kit and brochure from 78
- the 928 book featuring the car
- matching 1:18 scale model.
This is an absolutely unique opportunity for the serious Porsche collector.
